More Flexibility For Teachers Releasing Into The Russian River System

We have a small change but important change for teachers receiving eggs from Warm Springs Hatchery. This year you will be able to pick your release location (from an approved list of sites) anytime before release (as opposed to when you apply for your permit in December).

In the section for proposed release locations on your application, you have the option of putting a specific location or you may use the following language “Russian River or approved tributary as listed on the CDFW website”. (www.classroomaquarium.org)

If you use the suggested language, you can pick your release location (from the approved list on the website) as it gets closer to your release time. Some teachers will be allowing students to visit various sites and make a selection based on student assessment of the habitat.

Check the website for more details on approved release sites
